This summer join VIMPy Academy's  6-day Summer Programme 

A week of masterclasses & mentorship to prepare for an epic concert!

This immersive programme is designed for students aged 11–18 who are keen to develop their musicianship and gain experience playing in a band setting.

At the start of the week, students will be placed into bands based on age, ability, and instrumentation.

Students registering as a band will remain together throughout the programme.

We work within two age categories (11–14 and 15–18) to ensure students are placed with the most suitable bands. However, we offer as much flexibility as possible with mixed ages are welcome, and individual students may be placed in a different age group where it better suits their level and musical development.

Programme overview

Morning sessions: Students take part in instrument-specific workshops (e.g. bass, drums, guitar, keys), working closely with specialist teachers to build technique and confidence. There will also be sessions focused on performance skills such as playing as a group, locking in rhythm, collaboration and improvisation in a practical, accessible way. 

Afternoon sessions are dedicated to rehearsals with different lead teachers in preparation for a final live performance. 

Final Concert

The week builds towards a final concert on Saturday, where students showcase everything they’ve been working on. The venue is still to be confirmed, but this will be a special opportunity for them to perform in front of a live audience.

Along the way, students will also get some insight into sound and lighting, stage presence, and a bit of event promotion. This is the highlight of the week, a proper show and a great way to celebrate all their hard work!
